IKinema to give Nintendo Switch™ developers access to the power of its RunTime animation technology

Industry standard, powerful full-body IK solver middleware set to bring natural, dynamically adaptive character motion for realistic gameplay on the innovative console

IKINEMA, FARNHAM, UK, 12 December 2017 – Leading game technology firm IKinema has signed a Development Tools Agreement with Nintendo to enable studios to use the RunTime animation middleware for Nintendo Switch development.

With RunTime, IKinema now offers Nintendo Switch developers a powerful full-body IK solver that is already used across Xbox One, PS4, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android games to deliver more realistic character animations that perform with higher fidelity. This means studios’ game characters move and react naturally and instinctively when interacting with dynamically changing environments and objects.

“We’re thrilled to have signed this license agreement with Nintendo. RunTime’s powerfully fast and advanced technology has long thrived serving other popular platforms, catapulting game titles to new heights. It makes sense to grant Nintendo Switch game developers access to the same outstanding tech, so they too can create games with life and realism, enabling their players to enjoy advanced interaction and memorable gaming.”
