IKinema on Motion Capture
Snapshot of what to expect: Be blown away by our demo of IKinema Orion, our high-end motion capture solution; we cover how a multi-million pound industry is making its way to our homes.
We were proud to be invited as an Industry Speaker to this year’s The Motion Capture Summit in June where we showed off our Orion and LiveAction software. Co-hosted by MoCap specialists Centroid Studios, The Mocap Vaults, and Faceware Technologies, the event was crammed with demonstrations led by a team of industry veterans and technology specialists, all held under one roof at London’s famous, Shepperton Studios.
Experimenting with the latest tech is indispensable to studios’ Research & Dev teams – the folk at Nickelodeon Animation Lab demonstrate how their R&D time spent using our incredible virtual production software, LiveAction not only delivers the utmost realism for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but they have fun with our tech too!
Our team is experimenting with the technology now to bring our events to life. See the new trackers in action for our marquee events, starting with a performance by Broadway star, Lesli Margherita. At the moment, only our team members and marquee partners will be able to use the technology, but we hope to make it possible for users to join the fun soon.

Draw Me Close Uses VR, Props, And Performance To Evoke Childhood
There is a multitude of scientific studies on how complex memory is. How audio, smell, even taste, can take you back somewhere. That is to say, sensory immersion can help stir recollections and feelings of that past. What better way to immerse yourself and stir up emotions than with an immersive medium like virtual reality?
‘Draw Me Close’ promises to provide a first of its kind immersive experience during its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival
Launching on 21 April at Tribeca Film Festival’s Storyscapes, Draw Me Close blurs the worlds of live performance, virtual reality and animation to create a vivid memoir about the relationship between a mother and her son in the wake of her terminal-cancer diagnosis. Weaving theatrical storytelling with cutting-edge technology, the project takes a deceptively simple and humanistic approach to the immersive medium: it allows the audience member to experience life as a five-year-old Jordan, inside a live, animated world.
Many of us are thrown life-changing curve balls at various stages, and you’ll discover in this immersive virtual portrayal, Draw Me Close that Canadian playwright and director, Jordan Tannahill caught his earlier than most. It’s a story many of us will connect with as the effect of Cancer is at the crux of their emotionally driven live theatre rendition – crystallized is the last moment shared between Tannahill’s five-year-old self and his mother before her death.
