Theme: It is possible for Montages to use the Foot Placement Behaviour?

I really want some of my animations to use it because it looks really good. The problem is root motion only works well with Montages and they don't seem to be working with iKinema. Is there a way for me to use Root Motion OR Montages AND iKinema's foot behaviour?

Thanks,

Andre

Can someone from the company actually answer this?

Hi Andre,

Would it be possible to send us the project where you are encountering this problem so we can investigate the issue.

If you are OK with this, the relevant email address is support@ikinema.com.

Hey Simon,

I don't think I actually have a "problem". I just want to know if the iKinema rig suppose to override the feet behavior of a montage with root motion? Or how may I be able to turn it on? Right now it works perfectly for normal animations, but completely ignores the iKinema solver for root motion montages. Is there a way to still use it in this case?

Hey again,

Apologies, I should have been more explicit. RunTime functionality *should* be available for use with Root Motion Montages. We know of people using it for just that but this functionality is not something we exactly planned for so there isn't a straight forward answer at this time. If you would be willing to share an example we could look into it further.

Is there a particular option that should be turned on? The solver works perfectly fine outside of root motion montages, but is completely non existance during them.

I'm using the indie runtime, does that make a difference?

I'm only reluctant to share the project because it's large at this time.

Unfortunately there are no options that would give you a quick fix here. Compatability with root motion montages wasn't a development priority but we are interested in addressing it.

Well I can show you my rig configurations if you'd like. There could be something that I'm missing but the fact remains there's no sign that the ikinema rig is trying to solve anything for the root motions.

For the other people that used iKiniema for root motion montages, how did they do it?

Your Rig setup is unlikely to be the issue here. The issue is likely in the code or a bug which is why we need something to test where the problem is easy to reproduce.

So the only thing I can give you to test it out is my entire project?

You must also choose either Action for Maya or Action for MotionBuilder as a part of the package.
